FileMaker's own vocabulary (table occurrence, privilege set, script step) means here exactly what it means in FileMaker. This page only defines the terms FM Fathom adds.

Client. The top-level workspace, usually one customer or one project. A client holds one solution's files, its uploads, its logs, and its AI connection. Work for different customers stays in different clients, fully separated.

File. One FileMaker file inside a client. A single-file solution has one; a multi-file solution has several, and FM Fathom models them as one linked system.

Export. The XML serialization of a FileMaker file that you create in FileMaker Pro and upload to FM Fathom. It describes structure (tables, fields, scripts, layouts, security), not your records. See Export your solution as XML.

Ingest. What FM Fathom does with an upload: parse the XML, resolve every reference, and build the catalog. When ingestion finishes, the solution is explorable.

Catalog. The navigable inventory of everything in your solution: tables, fields, scripts, layouts, table occurrences, relationships, value lists, custom functions, accounts, privilege sets, and more, each with its own detail page.

Version. One ingested export. Upload the same file again later and you have two versions, which version comparison can diff.

Call chain. The map of a script's relationships: what calls it (including the layout buttons and triggers that fire it), and what it calls.

Board. The client's Kanban view of tracked items. Any entity can be put on the board, assigned, and discussed; see Team workflow.

Demo client. The shared sample solution every beta account can explore before uploading anything. Fictional data, undeletable, and deliberately tiny.

Production evidence. What FM Fathom learns from your FileMaker Server logs: real errors, real timings, real schedule behavior. The counterpart to what the XML says should happen. See Production insight.

Coverage. How much of a time range your uploaded logs actually span. A finding like "no errors in March" only means something if March is covered.

Connector. FM Fathom's MCP server: the thing an AI client connects to. One connector per client, read-only, 24 MCP tools.

MCP. Model Context Protocol, the open standard the connector is built on. It's how AI apps like Claude are given outside tools to use.

Tool. One capability the connector exposes to a connected AI, like "search the solution" or "get this script's steps". The AI picks which tools to call; you just ask questions. See the tool reference.

Capability. A permission an admin grants to a user account, like creating clients or uploading exports. See Accounts.

Unused. An element nothing references, by the evidence in your export. FM Fathom is deliberately conservative about this word. See Unused elements.
