Connect Claude
Claude connects to FM Fathom the way you'd want it to: paste one URL, sign in, done. No key to copy and nothing to paste into a config file.
What you need
- An FM Fathom account with access to the client you want to connect
- A Claude account (claude.ai on the web, or the Claude Desktop app)
Connect
- In FM Fathom, open Connect to AI (bottom of the sidebar) and switch to the MCP Connections tab.
- Find the client you want and copy its connector URL. It looks like
https://fathom.fmfathom.com/mcp/c/your-client. - In Claude, open Settings, then Connectors, then Add custom connector.
- Paste the URL. Leave the advanced settings (OAuth client ID and secret) empty; FM Fathom registers itself automatically.
- When Claude asks you to authorize, sign in with your FM Fathom account and approve.
- Ask something real: *"What are the five biggest tables in this solution?"*
One connector per solution
Each connector is scoped to a single client, and everything it can do is read-only. To work with more than one solution, add a separate connector for each; that way Claude always knows exactly which solution it's looking at, and a conversation can never blur two clients together.
Managing connections
The MCP Connections tab shows your connected apps, and each has a Disconnect that revokes its access immediately. Disconnect anything you don't recognize or no longer use.
Claude Desktop with a static key (the old way)
Before sign-in connect, Claude Desktop setup used a downloadable extension file plus an access key. It still works and is kept for existing installs: download the extension for your client from the same tab, open it with Claude Desktop, and paste an access key when asked. New setups should use the sign-in path above instead.
